From the Studio. A Selection of Sgraffito Pottery

I love to make these pottery pieces. Each is one of a kind, inspired by the beautiful flora, fauna and fungi of Ontario. The Sgraffitto method that I use as decoration is a labour of love and drawing, as a black underglaze is applied to a damp, unfired ceramic body and then carefully carved away to reveal the white clay body of the underlying layer.
